You Are 56% Likely to Survive Another Great Depression

Even though you may not be expecting the worst, you're the type of person who prepares for the worst.

You live a relatively modest life. You don't overspend, and you aren't very materialistic.

You are also quite self sufficient and independent. You have many useful skills.

You can take care of yourself and those you love... which is crucial to surviving another Great Depression.

I'd like to think my chances are slightly better then that.

I love living in Edmonton, there's just so much stuff to do. Yesterday after work I went to the bar with my knitting group. Tipsy knitting is so much fun. The only problem was that it was really dim, so it was hard to count my stitches. Guess what! There was kareoke! I sang 2 songs, I totally bombed the first but redeemed it with the second.
Today I went to the yarn store and got me some silk to spin! mmmm silky silky silk.
I've discovered this browser application called stumble up it's addictive. I takes you to random sites based on your interests.

I'm watching the federal election debate right now. All the other candidates are really chewing out Stephan Harper. But that's what they're really focusing on, "You did this bad, shame, shame, shame." I wished the would focus on what they plan on doing.

I has a bed! couch! both! Horray for Ikea! It's going to stay a couch for now because it takes up way too much room. I've put up posters and hangings too it's starting to look more like a home now. kinda. the corner is still full of boxes.
Also I went grocery shopping by myself. Concidering that what I'm able to cook is rather limited I think I did well for myself, tonight it's quesedilla, and I have the fixings to make okonomiyaki, pasta with no sauce, and cereal. Hopefully I'll survive until the end of the week, when I'm going to a wedding., I'll eat then.

Ok so I'm all moved. Today was the first full day here, and I'm tired. I still don't have a bed, it's coming tommorrow so I still have one more night sleeping on the floor. Today I was supposed to hook up with my cousin, but I couldn't get ahold of her. So instead I went by myself to the Haratiage Festival. It was kind of scary taking the public transport here for the first time. It's really confussing all the rouits and stops. But I looked online before I left so I had a plan. I got there ok. It was a gorgous day today, so I toke my big waterbottle full of water, great but it made my bag so heavy. Ugh. I really really really wanted Takoyaki from the Japanese paveleon but they were sold out. So today was all about walking and looking at things and squinting againts the sun (I've a headache now from it) I had my name wrote out in Chinese, Arabic and I whatever they speak in Loas I think it was. So lots and lots of yummy food too. I is sleepy now.

Ok I'm partway through Day 1 of packing and moving (yesterday was supposed to be day one, but I'm lazy) Deadline: well I start paying rent on the 1st so that gives you an idea.

I've been working like mad and I thought that I've accomplished alot. But then I looked at the pile of boxes ready to go... only 4. And they were the easiest to do too. A box for my TV cushioned in yarn, a box for my yarn, a box for my unspun fiber and a box for my knitting books and supplies.
...

You know, I think it says alot about a person the things that they pack first. The first boxs are for things that you can't imagine leaving behind. That yarn and fiber are my first boxes says alot about me.
...

Perhaps that I need to get a life.

So I did something stupid today, I was brushing my hair and couldn't get the tangles out. So I just cut it off.

I ended up going to a hairdresser to get the crappy cut job I gave myself fixed though. Now it looks really cute. And I've kinda got bangs.

Here I am:

And although you have a great sense of humor, you are never superficial.
Deep and caring, you do like to get to the core of people - to understand them well.
However, any probing you do is light hearted and fun, sometimes causing people to misjudge you.

So now we have internet in our apartment. Horray! I was sick that last couple of days, it's Tya's fault, she got me sick.

But today was great! I've found heaven on Earth and it is an Art Supply Store (yes capitals, it's just that great). Its in Shibuya one of the most complected places to navigate, even with a map. But it is 5 floors of pure unadultried joy. (But we only had time for the first 3) I bought some white conte pencils a conte set, some fixadent, some black paper, a kneadable eraser, a blending tool, some clips, and a drawing board. Bliss. Pure Bliss.
We were running low on time however, I hope Tya made it to work on time.

I've been playing alot of video games lately, I don't like leaving the house on my days off, and I HATE shopping for food. So there's no food here, I think I'll just pay Tya and she can shop. Meh.

Hello from Japanland.

Just a quick e-mail to update everyone on the situation here.

It's been almost 2 weeks since I arrived, and I am over the jet-lag! Whooo! It was really bad at first, I was tierd at 5pm yet woke up at 4am. Thankfully I had 4 days to get aclimetized before training started, thought I wasn't completly over it by then, just mostly.

Monday the second I started training. Supposidly it’ll prepare us for teaching, but I didn’t feel prepaired at all by the end of the three days. The taining was a of the three days. The taining was at a smaller school, days. The taining was at a smaller school, which was much better then if it had been at a large school. I was trained with one other person, Emma, from was trained with one other person, Emma, from Australia. She seemed very nice, thought a little strange. For instance on the second a little strange. For instance on the second day of strange. For instance on the second day of training we ate our supper in a park that had alot of cats and homeless people in it. At first she was all look at the cute kitties, but soon she became freaked out by the shear number slinking around. She didn't seem fazed by the homless people number slinking around. She didn't seem fazed by the homless people at all. Maybe I'm just sheltered.

I've been working at my school in Soka for a week and a half now and I have to say that the other teachers are stark raving mad, or at least crazy. It's entertaining to watch. M or at least crazy. It's entertaining to watch. Matya and I are in the same apartment which is a very good thing, but we don't have the same days off, so we're not able to do alot of stuff together. I'm going to request a change in days off once my probation ends at the end of December. We have another roomate named Sheena, she's from Saskachewan. She's a bit of another roomate named Sheena, she's from Saskachewan. She's a bit of a compulsive neat freak, so far she's from Saskachewan. She's a bit of a compulsive neat freak, so far no confruntation, but you all know how I'm the exact opposite so I forsee trouble in the future. I suppose it's easy to be neat when you the future. I suppose it's easy to be neat when you don't have alot of stuff.

Work's OK, but we have to do this class called voice, all it is is talking for 40 min, no problem right? wrong! it's hard! Everyday you need to come up with a new topic because the same people come everyday. The goal is to get everyone talking, but if someone is to get everyone talking, but if someone is a low level it talking, but if someone is a low level it stalls the conversation. Word games are supposed to be good, but the only one I can think of is 20 questions. Ideas anyone? I have this one guy in voice that wants me to try Natto - femented soybeans - yuck! He always asks me "What did you eat yeasterday?" and I say, "Not "What did you eat yeasterday?" and I say, "Not Natto!"

I had my first earthquake the day before yesterday, it was early in the morning, about 6:30. I was in the middle of a dream where someone was shaking me and I woke up but the shaking continued. It didn't last long but it woke all three of us up. I scambledout of my futon and out of my room, only to see Matya peering out of her room. I was the only one who relized what we had just been through.

It gets dark here early, at 5:30 pm it's full dark out. I supposed it gets light out earlier, but I don't like morningsanyways. It's gets light out earlier, but I don't like morningsanyways. It's hard to out earlier, but I don't like morningsanyways. It's hard to eat a ballenced diet here- don't like morningsanyways. It's hard to eat a ballenced diet here- I can't read the packages, so alot of things I can't ballenced diet here- I can't read the packages, so alot of things I can't find. I'm eating alot of noodles and bread and oranges. All things I can reconize. They bread and oranges. All things I can reconize. They say Japan is expensive, and it is, it's a say Japan is expensive, and it is, it's a good thing I only have to buy food or I would be out of money by now, and I don't get payed until November. Well my time's almost up so I'll be saying bye now.
